The 15th Christmas Story Art Exhibition and Competition celebrates and explores children’s creative, artistic and reflective ability.
About 12,000 students in Year 5 and 6 students from schools in the Archdiocese of Sydney, Wollongong and Bathurst took part in the annual project this year.
They engaged in the Sydney Religious Education Curriculum and verses from the Gospels of Matthew and Luke to produce artworks and accompanying reflections that spoke to their understanding of the Christmas story.
The students are contributing to the evangelising mission of the Church and, together with their teachers, are to be congratulated on the artistic and faith-filled quality of their work.
The young artists featured in this online exhibition had their artwork selected from over 720 submissions; 27 were awarded prizes.
