The Music Administrator supports the seamless implementation, delivery and administration of the Archdiocesan Music Education Program for Primary and Secondary schools. This program aims to ensure every student in Sydney Catholic Schools has access to quality music education.

The Role

The Music Administrator is required to perform tasks which include but are not limited to:

  • Providing support to schools with the administration and timetabling of instrumental and vocal ensembles and small group tuition.
  • Processing maintenance and repairs requests and providing support to schools in the organisation of instrument collection and delivery.
  • Critically evaluating and supporting schools with instrument maintenance, repairs and regular servicing.
  • Managing schedules, including organisation of meetings, preparation of agendas and minute taking, organisation of meeting papers, and coordination of guests.
  • Updating documents and registers, complying with record management processes to ensure data is accurate, stored correctly and accessible.
  • Processing quotes, purchase orders and invoices.
  • Liaising with suppliers to request quotes, order consumable supplies and instrument repairs. Writing delivery schedules and negotiating with suppliers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Supporting school staff with the organisation and delivery of performance events. e.g public performances, liturgical and special events, including but not limited to ticketing, programs, advertising and social media.

The Person

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • TAFE NSW/College certificate III/IV or equivalent qualification in administration.
  • Experience in an administrative role.
  • Knowledge of and/or training in Music.
  • Understanding and experience in instrumental/vocal Music programs.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High-level computer literacy through proficiency in Google Apps and Microsoft Office.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy, considered judgement showing logical decision making and a hands on, proactive approach.
  • Willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of and/or experience working in schools.
  • Ability to identify basic maintenance required on string, woodwind and/or brass instruments
  • Knowledge of relevant arts copyright laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with tracking budgets.
  • Proficiency with, or willingness to learn, Oliver (Library Management System).
  • Own car to travel to schools within the Sydney Archdiocese.

Benefits: Full time, salary of $84,997 + 10% superannuation, plus option of NFP salary packaging up to $15,900 per year.
